Kickstarting social care careers

We're excited to be linking up to the government's 'Kickstart Scheme' to attract more young people into social care.

Aimed at 16-24-year-olds on Universal Credit and at risk of long-term unemployment, the scheme funds jobs and training.

For us it means we can recruit and train more young people as support workers, fully funded by the government for six months.

With young people hit hard by the struggling job market and under 25s making up one third of new Universal Credit claimants, this is a really exciting opportunity to train and work in a really rewarding career.

We currently have 14 staff studying for NVQ’s at various levels with a further six in the pipeline. Anyone interested in doing an NVQ in Health & Social Care should speak to their line manager.
